Air

I hear it rustle through the trees,

The laughter of the forest.

It’s music singing through the leaves,

Of all the sounds is purist.

Wind can be cause for immense fear,

It can be cause for hope.

It brings disaster every year,

Gives us the strength to cope.

As some take their final breath,

Others take their first.

And while to some its loss brings death,

In life some are immersed.

Water

Gently flowing it leaves its scars,

Marking where it’s been.

The image of the night sky stars,

Reflecting from within.

The clouds bring desperation

Drought will soon cause strife

However far we’ve fallen,

Water brings new life.

Fire

It dances in the moonlight,

And flickers in the wind.

Tonight the flames make us unite,

The heat absolves our sins.

The fire shimmers faintly,

An endless orange glow.

Effulgent in its beauty,

The flames begin to grow.

Fire can bring destruction,

It can bring warmth and light.

To some it is a beacon,

To some the end of life.
